Two sharks were spotted feeding on a bait ball off Kendalls Beach in Kiama this morning. The same beach was closed yesterday because a 2.5m grey nurse shark was spotted off shore.
The sightings come after 22-year-old surfer Brett Connellan was attacked by a great white off Bombo Beach last week.
Despite the recent surge in shark activity, and calls from Surf Lifesaving NSW to avoid the water, Kiama board riders are keen to return to surf.
Nick Clifford, a member of the local area board riders and friend of Brett Connellan, said the sightings are doing little to keep surfers from doing what they love.
“Obviously a shark’s a shark, but there’s not really been a great concern from myself, since the attack,” he said.
