The University of Wollongong has been ranked in the top universities globally for two popular subject areas.
The QS World University Rankings has ranked Wollongong in the top 100 for Geography and Material Science.
UOW also placed in the top 150 universities for the subjects of Engineering (Civil and Structural), Chemistry, Accounting and Finance, Business and Management Studies and Education.
The university is also in the top two per cent of universities in the world – ranked 283. It is ranked number 12 in Australia.
“The result reinforces the fact that Wollongong has become a benchmark for Australia’s new generation of universities,” Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Wellings said.
QS will officially release the 2015 World University rankings later this year.
